Default Partition size for dual-booting xp pro 32bit/Windows 7 32bit.

I want to be able to dual-boot xp pro and windows 7. I have a new 640gb HDD and i am going to make two 20gb partitions for both OS's on. Is that overkill/enough if I'm going to be installing everything else on a separate partition?

PS - I'm new with this partition stuff.

Thanks

My W7x64 install is 13.5 GB.

20 GB might be a bit large for a XP install, but some programs (like ms office) seem to run better on the OS patrition. Some extra room to work with might be helpful.

I'd go with 2 x 50GB partitions.
win 7 with XP mode and VM uses space fast.
20GB is way to small for win 7 especially if you load Office 2010 technical preview etc.
you'll still have a half terabyte og storage space on it.

Thanks for the replies.

@soundx98
What is Windows 7 with XP mode? If VM is virtual machine i won't be needing to use that.

I made a 40GB and I have lots of space left...
anything below 50GB for Windows 7 and 35GB for XP IMO.
