Ok So I need a new OS. I will be using my computer for many tasks and such that I am a gamer. I can either get Windows XP Pro or Windows Vista but which is the best vista version? I can get Windows 7 also but nothing is compatible with it yet. Thanks.

actually there's quite a bit that's already compatible with 7. One of the reasons vista failed is because not many people made drivers for vista before it was released.
They're getting it right this time around by getting drivers out and programs specific to win7 out before it's released so that there's full support come release day. If you're worried about an antivirus and firewall, there's already one that's good (and free) if you wanna wait on something else. I really do enjoy win7. Enough so that after a month on my desktop, I replaced vista on my laptop with win7

I've been running on Windows 7 exclusively and plan on doing so from here out. I haven't had any issues with it. Vista drivers work in the event that the manufacturer hasn't put out Win7 drivers.

I mean does it support like crysis and far cry 2 and like all those similar types of shooting games? Thanks. I need and OS that would be best for those types of things. I might change it later however. Thanks.

You should use Solaris :P
Seriously, use Windows 7.
