Sortof off topic, but why is there a limit to the amount of supported memory on 32 and 64 bit OS's? How is it calculated?

Thanks!

BTW, i'm running 64, and am happy. We should move to 64, but some computers cant as others have said, like my old pentium m laptop...

I thought the only reason there's no all 64bit operating system from Microsoft is because of Intel. Something about Intel having to pay AMD some royalties for having x64 compatibility. And AMD having to pay Intel some royalties for having x86 compatibility.

I heard/read somewhere that the main reason there's no all x64 bit windows version is because of Intel not allowing it.

I for one have been using xp64 & vista 64 with no problem since 2007. I though windows 7 was going to be x64 only. For those that have never used x64 OS before the first thing you'll notice is how much faster your apps load. You'll also notice that programs (like Nero burn) that use to take up 80%-100% of your processor(s) now will take up 15%-50%.

Here's some proof from when I had xp64 and some proof from when I first installed Vista Ultimate 64 (non service pack 1). In each picture I only had 2GB of ram, given how Vista is a ram hog, it still handled the dual burning well.

Sorry for the long post

32-bit = 2^32 = 4,294,967,296 = 4 Gb
64-bit = 2^64 = 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 = 17,179,869,184 Gb

Oh, I know. But from a security and speed standpoint, 128 bit processors would be better.
It will probably be another 20+ years till 128 bit comes to the consumer market.

That's an Adobe issue.

And please, for the sake of those who have to make web pages, stop using IE.
