I am looking at getting a Dell Studio Laptop that comes with 3gb of RAM with Windows Home Premium 64 Bit.
Will this be sufficient enough to run ? Or do I need more? Also, it comes with the free upgrade to Windows 7 64 Bit, and will the 3gb of RAM be enough to handle this ? Any thoughts? |

You can run 64-bit with 512mb of ram but 64-bit was kind of designed to run 4GB+ RAM.
You can run it easily but you won't gain as many benefits as you would with 4GB or more.

3 should be more than enough. As for win 7 it will also be more than enough. (reccomended for visat than win 7 is 1gb)

Of course, there isn't much of a real benefit unless you need access to higher quantity of RAM, e.g. Video Editing.
I'd still recommend you do it Nothing wrong with 64-bit as it tuns 32 bit software (as a general rule) but drivers may prove to be annoying.
