80% of the time I'm just playing around the desktop on Pidgin, listening to Music through Foobar, watching movies/.avis, Firefox, etc. No problems with computability there, I'm sure.
But the rest is playing games. I'd be happy if L4D and CS:S worked to be honest. They work?

You could dual boot to help decide. All my games ran fine under Windows 7 and it may run faster than Vista.

my brother uses w7 for everything, and all the source games in the orange box work fine. He has had no issues.

That's actually something I've been debating as well.
I use Vista Ultimate, and for the most part I've been OK with it though it seems to have its weird quirks; if I could just force it to consistently display "Detail view" all the way through like in XP Pro, I'd love the ever-loving love out of it. But I've been hearing Win7 cures a lot of Vista issues, so would it be worth plunking down the ~$100 for the Win7 Pro upgrade? I could just use Vista Ult on another machine anyway as I purchased the full retail copy.

Guess I back up all my stuff and go install the Release Candidate.
I needed a reinstall of Vista, anyway. That's why I asked.

I enjoy Win7 so much, I completely got rid of my Vista Ultimate x64 and replaced it with the Win7 RC. I was on a dual boot. I just quit using Vista altogether.

Go for it, its way better than Vista if ya ask me. As far as games go I haven't had any issues with any of my games at all, so you should be fine. I can say for sure that Source engine games don't have any problems with Windows 7.

All of my games work in W7 and I play the following:
Crysis CSS Mirror's Edge TF2 COD4 COD:WaW Portal Fear 2 I play a few other games but I do not remember them. All of them play nice. Also I am playing crysis at around 40-60FPS (sometimes I hit 80 sometimes). <.< Vista I was doing a little worse and max I hit was 70 sometimes ![]() Also everything runs much better under win7 for me. It runs lighter, cooler, faster, everything is just better.

Cool deal ... you guys got me all excited.
It's about 50% done burning ... had the ISO on my computer since the RC became available for TechNet subscribers and I just never got around to burning/installing it.
