Windows 7 is not out yet.

And at any time you can install any OS on your system.

Umm... what?

It's not for sale yet...

Unless you want to put the RC on it... and then, who cares?

I know you don't have Build 7269/7300. Therefore you are talking about either a leaked build in Winmain branch or PRE-RTM candidate or RC Candidate. OEM rules apply regardless of OS and it's tied to a single motherboard. There is ways to get around it but I will not discuss that.

Yes, you'll be able to. The OS is tied to the motherboard, as in, if you get a new motherboard, it's against the EULA to put that copy of Vista on the computer. That's the difference between OEM and Retail.

You can preorder Win7 at a discounted price for a few more days at Newegg. Home Premium is 58% off.

I think he's talking about the free upgrade? Did you buy an OEM machine or just an OEM disk? If you just bought an OEM machine, then odds are you can get the Windows 7 upgrade free.

Wait a second so you're saying if you have an OEM copy of windows if you install it on a machine and then switch out motherboards because of it dying/upgrading/etc it's actually illegal to install that copy of windows on the new components?
