Maybe, but probably not too likely? I've never heard of a 48 bit os. In terms of windows software, it was the XP era that 64 bit OSes started to rise, and the modern alternative was a 32 bit OS.
This is likely most of the information you'll find on the subject. I can't imagine it would be easy to find more results for on google. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/48-bit Edit: Taking a further look at that link, you'll see that wikipedia only bothered to make a 16bit, 32bit, and 64bit spot under the category "Applications". Probably means applications of that breed don't exist, or are damned rare. tl;dr 48bit is not the droids you're looking for.. Actually, there probably wern't any droids to find either.
