Default Question about XP

Hi every1. I have recently installed XP and have installed SP3. I see there are quite a few more SP's and I have seen Jet 4.0. (SP8). I don't really know much about any of this and could use some info. Such as, can I just download and install Jet 4.0 (SP8) now onto my SP3? Or, do I need to download and install them in order like a numerical system? Some info on this would be great. I previously had vista and heard XP was alot better in games and in general. I wanted to try this before windows 7.Thanxs in advance for replies.

I don't seem to be getting replies. Repost under Windows. Sorry.

well, Jet is a Database Engine, so unless you use that, you don't need that service pack

service packs are released for more than just the OS (operating system)

on windows XP the latest and last(?) service pack is 3
so if you already have service pack 3, then you should be set, the other service packs are for the corresponding product, in this case Jet Database Engine

to get the additional updates you need besides service pack 3, you might want to use the microsoft update feature, and just download the one that affect that actual OS, not your programs

hope this answered your question, if not feel free to respond
