I just installed 64bit W7 but my wireless adaptor won't work (Buffalo Airstation WLI-U2-KG54L). I'm wondering if I should buy a new adaptor (I hate spending money, haha) or try W7 32bit? What wireless adaptors do other people running x64 use?
Thanks!

You could wait it out to see if the manufacturer will release updated drivers since Windows 7 isn't officially released yet and some companies still do not have 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 working.

I would but I kind of need it for Uni work. I really doubt they will, people have been wanting x64 Vista drivers for ages. Why is there such a lack of support for x64?

x64 is basically good if your on 4GB's or more of RAM.I use 32 bit now because 64bit is a resource hog and their are real no performance gains in most programs. 32 bit Win7 is blazing fast with 3GB's of RAM.

What I did was find out what chipset my wireless card had and then I manually found the driver in Win7. Works perfect. I will try to look it up for you.

I have 4GB of RAM, I do a lot of video and image editing so thought x64 would benefit me be allowing me to use all my RAM.

have you tried updating the driver for the card from device manager. i had a pci ide card that wouldnt work no matter what i did or how i did it. till i booted in safe mode and manually updated the driver in device manager.( dont let it search, dl and manually select it) In my driver experience with 7 , most vista drivers will work in one way or another if the 7 version just isnt out yet.

Your card is actually a ZyDAS Technology Corp chipset card. Simply uninstall any driver you tried for your card, and install the driver for the card manually using Windows 7 default drivers. Under 'Network Adapters', go to ZyDAS and then pick either ZD1211 11bg, or ZD1211B 11bg WLAN USB2.
It will work.

I don't have ZyDAS in the list, only Z-com, Zinwell Corporation and ZyXEL. This is when I right click the device, go to properties, update driver, select 'network adaptors' from the list of devices and then look. Any ideas?

oh no! my mediocre hardware doesn't work with the latest bleeding edge OS...
i could name a few dozen times this has happened to me personally over the last 20 years... long story short... Buy something that works, wait for it to work, or use software that works with it.
