Question About Backing up and extracting

New to Overclock.net
|
Ok iam about switch to a raid setup and i need to know whats the best program i can use to backup my entire os and all of its files.
Than after i complete the raid i need to restore everything.

Have you thought of how you're going to install the RAID drivers?
When you do the restore there won't be any drivers for the array. RAID1 you can restore to one disk, setup the RAID in the BIOS, install the RAID drivers, then rebuild the array. With RAID0 you can't do that because the OS won't see the array without the drivers being installed. If you want to do RAID0, you have the perfect excuse for a fresh, clean install.

Ya thats what i did, turned out perfect. Now i got 5 drives in raid 0 and no problems yet

robocopy to backup your data at the file system level...
use the raid utilities or OS'es mirror options at the partition level...
