Unhappy BSOD while booting xp

hi guys im having a problem while loading xp.It all started a few days ago when my computer started to hang then it suddenly blue screened saying "IRQL_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL" so the first thing that came to mind was bad drivers from my new usb wireless adapter (D-Link DWL 130 wireless N) so i tried unplugging it and rebooting but no luck. The next thing I tried doing was booting into safemode but it still bluescreens saying "PAGE_IN_NON_PAGE_AREA" then i was really confused so I started doing some searching and people said it might be bad RAM (i thought what are the chances of 2 sticks suddenly going bad at the same time) anyway i ran memtest86 to make sure and it didn't show any errors.
The next thing I tried doing was taking out my audio card (blue screen)
I tried reseating my video card (blue screen)
I tried booting with all my usb devices unplugged (blue screen)
some people said that an overheated CPU could cause my problem so I blew out any dust in my computer even though there wasnt alot (blue screen)
I made sure all my fans were running properly including CPU fan and they were.
I know my PSU is fine so the only other thing I can think of is a virus or something (could have messed up my drivers )

any help would be greatly appreciated im posting from my PS3 lol

Have you tried to go into your bios to check the System health.

Another things you want to check in the bios is your Power supply. You should have a screen in the bios some where that will tell you the PSU voltages 12v, 5v, 3.3v rails in the PC health status window

Look at your CPU voltages and RAM voltages as well to make sure they are ok.

Also check from w/in your bios to see what the temperature of your CPU is before you try to boot into windows.

Another thing you could try is to boot from one stick of ram in the slot closest to the CPU. If that is not working then try to use the other stick. Still if no luck try to move the stick to another slot away from the first slot and try again w/one stick in a different slot.NVM this step, you already said your ram passed Memtest86+ but this is always a good test never the less.

If that don't work you could try to remove as much hardware as possible just to get into windows. i.w. sound card, CD/DVD Rom drive/s and any thing else not needed to boot into windows. Basically strip the system down to minimal hardware i.e. mobo, psu, cpu, ram, video, hdd. Then see if it will boot like that. If you are still getting a blue screen then try to use the xp installation cd if you have it and boot up to the installation cd and try to do a repair of xp w/out making any changes... What I mean is select repair windows when it asks you if you want to install new copy or repair existing copy. Select existing copy but when it gets to the screen asking you for your back up information don't give it any and so a soft reboot of your system. It may just help it out a bit to be able to get the OS running again.

Another thing you may want to try is to run a HDD diagnostic on the drive to make sure the drive is not failing w/bad boot sector clusters or other sectors that have important windows files.

Good Luck,

N2G

I'm still voting RAM.

You only need one stick to screw ya up.

Try booting with one stick at a time and make sure the voltages are correct.

I would also try a bootable MemTest or better yet the UBCD has all kinds of diagnostic tests.

Did you try a bootable Memtest or UBCD?

If it didn't boot to the disc, what did it do?
