problem when installing vista or 7 x64

New to Overclock.net
|
guys and girls
have a pc with 4gb ram, amd athlon 6000 x2 and 200gb hdd whenever i try and install a 64-bit os there is an error saying that files are either missing or corrupt have also got a dell 1545 and windows 7 has installed on that fine i install it by booting from disk and also from the desktop and both times i get this annoying error (error code is something like 7x00017) cheers all new here and love the layout am a special constable from glouceester! |

It'd be helpful if we knew your motherboard, as well. Also, I'd advise you to fill out your system specs in your User CP (http://www.overclock.net/specs.php?do=addsystem).
Perhaps you should attempt to install with only 1GB of RAM installed, and see if that works. Additionally, if you're going to use your Dell as a point of reference, its specs would be helpful, too. And, are you sure that disc is good?
