i replicate the games, pics, movies, etc folders on each drive, and store different types of stuff on different drives, depending on how big the space requirement is

ie, my music and videos will be on my big drive, my steam backups and other stuff i don't frequently use, will be on another, and my OS will be on a drive by itself, which is usually kept clean so i don't lose stuff in case of a format.

i find it easier that way

important directories from my boot/os/programs drive, like appdata, etc... are mirrored to my storage drive every 24 hours... which itself it is mirrored to my file server 21tb ever 24 hours -- with my documents folder being mirrored every 2 hours... have a bunch of stuff there that's already backed up to DL-DVDs and never changes... this is mostly media, things like movies and music that i have real disks for in storage but keep online for two mythTV frontends...

then i have an external enclosure with 16 750gbs on 2 8 port sata controllers with a software raid5 stripe 11.2tb that powers on once a week and mirrors everything but the stuff that never changes on my file server... and then shuts down if the backup was successful...
how much space is that in total?
