Hey guy's I'm trying to format my other computer and put Winxp. It see's the disc but it does not say press any key to boot from Disc it just does the ... period thingy and just restart it self. I've put the disc in my Gaming rig and it boots from it why does the other not boot it up from it? I also check bios to make sure boot first is my Dvd drive so confused...... I just burnt this disc that I got from MSDN ugh......

What do you mean by the "... period thingy"? Can you elaborate?
Also, when does it reboot itself? It sounds like there might be something wrong with it if it's rebooting itself.

Either way, though: just unplug the drive from your system, leave the cables as they are, and put it in the system that might benefit from it. If that doesn't work, then the other system might have more serious problems. I mean, I just can't imagine why it would be rebooting like that.

hehehe it's all good. I've been there so many times myself where my anger or frustration overwhelmed me too much thereby blinding me from seeing certain possibilities or something.
I just hope that this is the solution. Yikes. I'd hate to see that the hard drive is dying or something worse.
