Default How to watch MKVs on 360?

Is there any way to view MKVs with subtitles without converting? I want to watch on my 360 but neither this, PS3mediacenter, or Tversity work. They all do audio/video, but since I'm watching anime, its useless without subs, and it takes about 20min per ep to hard encode. Is there any way?
I wish my PS3 hadn't been robbed, it was so damn easy with mkv2vob took like 1 min.

I don't believe the mkv container works on the 360. You would need Haali media splitter, which it lacks. You'll have to switch to avi or mp4.

Nope, you'll have to convert the videos. Trust Microsoft not to support the best open container format there is.

If you do it right, you might be able to switch containers without reencoding, depending on the codecs used.

You can use TVersity to live steam the .mkv into a container that the 360 can play

But unless you get some video converter to play it in Xvid etc, then your SOL I think

I wish it could play .vob...
the support on this thing sucks. Once I get another PS3 I prob wont be turning the 360 on at all(unless its an exclusive)

Use Any Video Converter to convert the video. It is a very nice free video converter IMO.
