Default windows 7 unidentifed network

Hello again, win 7 successfully installed .

But i cannot connect to the internet, all i get is unidentifed network in the network control panel after a couple of minutes, ive googled and its quite a common problem but all the solutions ive tried have come to nothing.

Ive tried resetting the router, updating the lan driver to the latest one, ive unistalled the adapters in the device manager and rebooted so they install with defualt drivers, none of it worked.

Rather bizzarrely initaly it worked fine, but then i did a bit of overclocking and its stopped working completely now, what ill try tonight after work is reseting all the defualt values and see if that does anything but ive never had net issues before when oc'ing...

any help appericated thnx.

i had this before, i found no real fix except disable ur network from your computer, then reconnect using the little button in the righthand bottom corner and press connect, otherwise if that doesnt work troubleshot it and if its security password confirm thing connect by rightclicking on the network and connect and it should ask u to type your password. other then that idk

Do you have to authenticate on the network by any chance? I found that if there is some type of login needed to get on just opening your browser can help. Also, if your motherboard has 2 internet ports, try switching between the two because mine seems to get a little picky when it comes to that.

If that doesn't work, maybe take a look at your firewall since sometimes you can block networks without even knowing it.

not sure what u mean by authenticate on the network, yes i have tried switching between the ports, still the same, i have also tried with firewall disabled.

like i said this is a complete fresh install so it cant be any program blocking it.

Run services.msc and Check to see if you have in your services list:

"##Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B87 9762 ##"

If you do, stop it and disable it. It is the Itunes Bonjour DNS Responder Service, and it's the cause of the "Unidentified Network."

After disabling it, reboot and check again
