Default Windows 7 64bit help-RAM & XP mode.

Hi Guys,

Need a little help. Got windows 7 ultimate. Clean install on a SSD and it only recognises 3.2GB on the system info screen.
Under it says 64bit OS.
Running on my sig rig.

I could also do with some advise on the XP virtual mode. I have xp installed on another HDD. Can I use this drive for xp mode? I have already downloaded the files for it.

Msconfig = Normal Startup instead of selective

or

Try changing your Memory Remap feature in your bios.

or

Research BCDEdit /set pae forceenable, it may apply to you. I haven't personally done this but may be your problem.

I just had this problem on my stepfathers computer, msconfig one worked for me. It's a pain in the ass.

Also, since you are using integrated graphics as it seems, some of your RAM has to be allocated for it. About the XP Mode, no I don't think you can use XP Mode to load XP on a separate partition (if thats what you're saying). See basically, it makes a "virtual" hard drive within your hard drive to load XP from. It literally creates a file on your hard drive that has the OS on it.

It doesn't allocate 800mb of memory though.
