Default More FPS in Vista than Windows 7?

i just upgraded from vista ultimate 64 bit to 7 ultimate 64 bit and i'm getting a hell of a lot less fps in cs:s stress test.. i'm using a newer graphics driver as well on windows 7. before i was averaging nearly 200 fps but now i average around 130 fps. my gpu temp seems to be a lot higher for some reason even in idle and nothing is running..

Perhaps the issue is with the driver? Try using an older version

I really doubt its the driver. I seen another thread on here and the person was having exactly the same problem. his vista was also performing better than windows 7..

Now, by "upgrade," do you mean you chose the "Upgrade" option during Windows 7's installation? Or did you do a fresh install, where the Vista partition was completely deleted, and Windows 7 was installed the normal way? 'Cause if you "updated" your Windows Vista partition to Windows 7 -- therein possibly lies the cause of your issue. Always do a fresh install, if you haven't.

I always do clean install.. my graphics card temps seem to be very high also. in vista my idle temps were not much over 40 degrees and now they are a lot over 60 degrees. I havnt installed anything which would stress my graphics. i've had a hell of a lot more problems with windows 7 than with vista, with vista i never had a single problem. i cant even get 3dmark vantage to run on here
