Default EasyBCD 1.7.2 help

i wasn't really sure where to put this thread

anyways...
i have just finished setting up my dual boot between Windows 7 and XP and after installed XP i used easybcd to restore the windows 7 bootloader.

once i got back into windows 7 i used easybcd to name my entries and what not and set everything up so i could get back into XP

i can get back into XP fine and everything, there are no problems there, the only thing is, is when i use easybcd from windows 7 to change the names of the entries, nothing happens....

i also tried using it from XP to change the entry names...but to no avail

each time i do it, it says the re-writing of the MBR is successful and what not, but when i actually reboot nothing changes.

does anyone know why easybcd will not edit my bootloader settings? and how i could fix it?

i've done this before and it has worked fine, just for some reason i can't edit the bootloader anymore via easybcd or vistaboot pro, and i just can't see a reason for it
