Heres a article on a few diff game sunder xp, vista, and 7: http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/windows_7_gaming/

It is all so close to call, but it wont be a downgrade in gaming at all.

I recommend win 7 64 bit.

Both will do it just fine, but based on personal experience Windows 7 will do it with a lot less hassle.

Its also a much better operating system in general, if that counts for anything...

Some games run better in 7, some in Vista. Overal, atm, games perform better in vista.

Both ways the difference is very small and hardly noticed, only in benchmarks.

As the current performance in 7 is mostly based on drivers from the first batch the performance will certainly increase.

I would go 7 and be done.

What? Every performance review puts Windows 7 above Vista and XP.

Maybe build 7000 running on Vista drivers was slower, but since RC Windows 7 has been faster than Vista, and Retail is even faster.

IMO, 7 runs everything better, faster, more efficient than any previous OS (including XP).

25 different, newer games on my Win 7 64bit, no problems. Occasional crash, but probably from 64bit. That will smooth out over time with updates.
