Default would windows 7 run ok on this?

my mom has an HP, its not bad. it is currently running XP
i was considering doing a fresh install of 7 on it

the hardware is...
Phenom x4 9600 2.3GHz
motherboard...? (its HP)
3GB DDR2 667 RAM
80GB IDE hard drive, (not sure of the RPM) probably 5400 i'm guessing

now i know for sure i'll need to upgrade the graphics on it to use aero, and i'm not installing it unless i have aero running because i think it looks terrible without it.
the onboard is geforce 6150se and windows 7 upgrade advisor even says it will not be good enough

so basically i'm looking for some suggestions for the cheapest video card possible that will make aero run fine.

all my mom does is surf the web occasionally and check email...and fantasy football. also she uses iTunes for her ipod

nothing else

That should run 7 perfectly fine and for GPU go with lower end anything with DX10 will work.

The 8400s and 4350s are cheap since performance is not the object.

POWERCOLOR 4350 for like $35 at newegg.

Yes, 7 should run fine on that. 7 can run on a 1 GHz processor with 1 GB of ram, granted not super well, but it can.

Yes, this is true. I have Windows 7 Pro running on my netbook with a single core CPU (N280) with HT and 2Gb of ram. It runs just fine on it too.
