You would be better off without a team. You can only fold on two cores for a team, and you'd be capped at 2500 ppd with the GTX+s. This is sort of a team competition between OCN'ers. You can just fold for team 37726 and not be a part of these mini-teams.

oh, ok, just thought it would be fun. I figured my computer would be alright for folding. I'll still fold for the OCN team though. What is the most efficient fold i should use? the mcp or the gpu one? Thanks!

In this comp you can only choose a gpu or cpu....let me tell you if you can get folding on that cpu, you will be an allstar that everyone is after.

i am incredibly confused. I am not bashing the guy with a 4.2 cpu above me, infact he has a very nice machine ,but i have a quad at 4.0 and 2 9800gtx+'s in my rig and i was told i was not worth joining a team. How does all this work?!

Original Team Folding. This is very restrictive. The best thing to have in this group is a high clocking dual core. The reasons are. 1. CPUs are limited to 2 cores. Basically if you folded on the quad you could only count the team points from 2 of the 4 cores. 2. GPUs are limited to a single card and 2750PPD. Your 9800s would easily pass that and all the extra PPD wouldnt count towards your team score. GPU Team competition. This is less restrictive, but very competitive. You are still limited to one GPU core, but no PPD cap. Basically the top dogs here are GTX 275/285. Basically, no one was trying to hurt your feelings or anything. Its just that your system is too good for Original Team folding, but your GPUs might not be good enough to compete in the GPU Team folding. Obviously you are welcome to fold for OCN as a member, and we are glad to have you.
