Do to the overwhelming cry for change with the cap set up, we have decided to change it. These changes will be effective 2/1/09. There are 2 changes being made at this time, and they are as follows:

(1) The current cap on the GPU folding is set at 2,350, this is now going to be bumped up to 2,500. (this is in reference to PPD)

(2) Quad cores can now fold on all 4 cores. If you fold on a quad, you must fold with only one instance of the folding client.

I will be editing the rules for the team folding within the next few days. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to post them in this thread.

We(the staff) are always open to suggestions on how to improve the folding program, don't hesitate to offer your suggestions. We are attempting to make the team competition as fun and fair as possible.

umm why cap the amount people can fold with? i thought the more ppd and wu's the better. who cares if people are in the top 1000 of ocn or not? they are still contributing to the team and to the cause.

This isn't for the entire ocn team (37726). This is for small competition of current ocn folders, based on four man teams.

Couldn't SMP folders fold with two instance but change the name on one to their team folder name?

It would count as two cores, uncapped. But if you ran two instances then it would become 4 cores and would be capped.

Like I stated earlier, I will be changing some of the ruling. For example the core thing. There will be an exception make for members folding on quads. Yes it will be 4 actual cores, but it will be considered 2 cores. It's just like the cards, they are actually one core, but they get considered 2 cores.

I'm going to be working on this over the next few days. I basically need to redo the rules because of the new changes. I also have to include something for the new i7 chips.
