You know these are not new rules...I have spent months trying to get my cpu to fold at the speed it is today to remove these rules would really suck for me. I may leave the team comp if you get your way. Also if you remove the cap it will not be very far for the ati guys either.

So, remove caps from everyone. You'd leave because you wouldn't be able unfairly score higher than everyone else anymore? It would suck to be held to the same standards as us wouldn't it.

How is that unfair, because we are the only ones oc'ing our dual to 4GHz+ and you gpu2 fold and are pissed because a rule that was in effect before you even started folding here.

Why do you think we have spent months on our team folding rigs and the diligent time in tweaking in our oc and not using an E2180 to hit 4GHz. Granted some of the top dawgs have dropped some money down also.

I remember when I first started team folding, I was on my E2180 then and going, "just wait, I can get a dual setup going strong". You act like we skewed the rules as we went when if you were around when Tearic addressed the issue in the frst place you would know it was a battle and at the time the only way to give a little guy like me a chance was to add a cap. We still want the little guy to be here.

The rules don't force you to gpu2 fold and you act as if we have 0 gpu's and in no way could keep up with your points......... if the caps were removed completely.

I'll say it again, show me a single Dual core setup getting even 5k ppd.

In order to keep dual core folders that don't run high clocks in we had to make a cap so each folding source was at least similar.

Besides, as said by Lemans. The mods have this issue on the board and in the works. I'll trust and abide by whatever they judge if accurately fair either way it ends up. I may have to adjust my setup but that's all.

Exactly RX7Racer. The rules have been in place for months. How can anybody complain since we have been abiding by the rules for months now. Team Replacements works very hard to overclock their dual cores to the max. Then the extra cores and GPU2's go to the team score. Team_The_Replacements http://folding.extremeoverclocking.c...hp?s=&u=345281

All of us have abided by the rules for months and it has resulted in extreme overclocks, especially by Ranger and Lemans. Isn't that what this whole site is about? Getting the maximum overclock from your rig?
If people can't overclock and only have the ability to use a Nvidea GPU then maybe they should not be envious of those that really do know how to overclock their CPU's.

Stanford needs the SMP work units, just as badly as the GPU2 work units. The fun in team competition has been to find a way to get the CPU to the absolute max. Lapping, a better cooler, different multi's, FSB, Vcore, and just the perfect ram timings to make that baby scream. I can overclock a gpu in 10 minutes. But the real battle has been to push that CPU to the absolute edge
