My initial thoughts were that the pin on the psu plug somehow did not get good engagement and arc'd.. Now generally speaking, once a pin or plug or connecting device arcs enough to burn the contact like yours it will not work again. No contacting surface for the electrons/current to flow across. If there is current flow, then the ohms will be really high...which will require more amps, which in turn will burn something else out.

Now you say it runs?? Hmmm??? Have you been able to check the BIOS for voltages to the motherboard? I have a 20/24 pin electrical continuity checker , but I'm 200 miles North of you.

BTW - I think this is the 1,001 post on this thread... Way to keep it going guys! Wasn't there a book written about the 1,001 Arabian Nights?? I hate reading those kind of books, so I can't remember...

Hi shajbot,

I love those SMP client for folding! By the end of tomorrow or half way though this short month (28 days) I'll have more points (14,000+) than any of the first 8 months I folded individually. It wasn't until October that I broke over 20,000 points and that was with 8 rigs! I might be able to beat that score with just 3 rigs folding for me this month and it's 3 days shorter!

I figure -
SMP = 25,950 ppm (30 days)
GPU = 16,500 ppm (30 days)
FX-55 = 3,800?? (30 days) I guess I'd better get that 2nd SMP rig going.

And Stanford becomes the real winner in all of this. By the time you get my age, living past 100 will be easy. The only question you'll have to ask - Do I really want to live that long? I'll let you start worrying now. he,he,he

I don't know if we intentionally take two week breaks. I know I get busy and so do you guys. I'm here a lot this past week because of my leg. I'm still resting it and have not gone back to work yet. Maybe next week? However, I've got to go to Daytona this weekend. So it better be up to the task, or wheelchair here I come! I'm going to the NASCAR race! It's also the first time for me in 54 years visiting Florida... Imagine that!

BTW - Is your computer still running? Do you still need a motherboard??

Hey guys,

Buick was kind enough to let my try out his Fedora 6 disks since I wasn't able to get the DL'd ones working, or so I thought. Posting here may help cappy in case he runs into the same problems since I'm installing on my E6600/P5B-Dlx system.

Unfortunately I am still having the same problem after install, it's loading "grub" and I don't have a clue what's next. So far I have deleted all partitions on this HD with Fdisk so that Fedora would see a fresh drive, but I still have the same problem. It came up perfectly for Buick and I can't figure it out.

Any ideas? They would be greatly appreciated.

How did you set up your partitions? Did you set one for root, home and swap?

I just went by the install questions, it just asked if I wanted to install on the one partition.

Hope that makes sense.
