I think I may change to a linux 64 distro on my 2nd Hd to have it fold when I'm not playing games. It wouldn't be fedora core, more likely I'll just change my Ubuntu to 64 instead of k6. I'll probaly get on that after I'm done DL Install Disk 1 for NWN.

Wow is that with fedora core? I like the way it looks. I'm tempted to switch but I think I'd best stick with Ubuntu and its debian goodness till I get a better grip on Linux.

Yeah, it's fedora core 6... I've made some layout changes so that I'd have a "start" button and everything.
__________________Well team it looks like we're up for some stiff competion: 13883 Team Zang! 12582 Team MHz Masters 11424 Team Folders Inc. I thought we were going to blow by everybody, but MHz Masters are definately doing a great job... with the release of some new, high points WUs for the normal clients... we won't keep up.... My production is locked at around 1200ppd, and won't go up for the forseeable future (might go down, using computer for studying midterms and stuff, so have been switching back and forth between windows) Hopefully Vanilla_Eitz will be getting some of these amazing WUs, otherwise we're in trouble... MHz Masters each fold about between 2000 and 6000 points, on our team we're between nearly 10k and 1000. Anyway, good job for taking #1 spot... but we won't be lonely :-)

I got a little mix of everything on my 3 cores. 153 point amber core and 392 point p2125 on the Opty, and a 600 pointer on the P4. I was actually happy to crank out some amber core WUs for a change.
BTW Jimmy, all I can say is keep it up. 1200ppd is awesome...and on 2 cpus...I remember when I thought I was pretty special while cranking out 600ppd on 3 cpus. Also, it looks like you're about to pass me up. Enjoy it while you can...I'll be back.

I went and jokingly gloated in the team competition thread, it wasn't all well received It's all in good fun, I don't care we're first or last, just so long as sombody else is there to carry the torch and fold for the cure.So congrats vanilla_eitz, apavlov and justken... when was the last time this team was first? Never I think... praise-worthy indeed. Jimmy

Hello all, here is a little mid-update update:
__________________Jimmy2Shoe: 15260 vanilla_eitz: 2291 Justken: 4018 apavlov: 1537 Total: 23106 If the trend continues, we'll be just shy of 60000 points.... not bad It's actually a pretty big boost from the last update.now the bad news is I might have some downtime over the holidays, 2 days max. The reason is that I'm going to setup Virtualization so that I don't have to do that silly dual boot stuff anymore... VM should put a 15% dent in my points too, but I can't do very much about it... unless I go quad core ... but that won't happen anytime soon.... I was however thinking of upgrading to a E6400 or the Xeon Equivalent... maybe get my paws on that "B" batch that's apparently so good. But we'll see what I get in my christmas stocking IMPORTANT EDIT: I noticed on my 2nd folding rig, Jimmy2Shoe#2, I was only getting the 600pointers and the 153 pointers. I HAD to add the -advmethods flag. A word of caution, I've got the 1497 and it takes nearly 300MB of RAM!

Well, I messed something up. I wanted to try VMWare and see if I could run Linux from Windows... I scrapped my Linux, and have to set it up again. However I don't have time to do it until the 20th.
__________________I've got windows running, but because Stanford already has me down for 2 cores, I'll wait until they both disapear before I fold again, either under Windows or Linux. In any case, this will give me time to properly evaluate the diffrence between Windows and Linux folding, and to see if it's worth the effort under Linux. Now that there are some good WUs again, this will be perfect to see what's going on. I've scored as many points as I have last month, give or take. I'll be back by the 21st, so I'll still hit approx 25000.

Due to high temps, I ordered a Big Typhoon and a Silverstone FM121 fan. Maybe I'll be able to push this Opty a little further.
