Yeah, if you click on it you'll see that I'm running Linux from within Windows, letting me fold SMP while preserving the usefulness of having Windows and all of it's goodies at the same time.

The best way to fold on dual core, IMO.

Whoa, rough start to the competition. I hope you'll be fully operational soon Vanilla_Eitz, because Justken seems to have fallen off the map.

apavlov is reliable as always though

If you have any problems with the new VMWare setup, feel free to ask.

Jimmy

I'm posting the following information in every team thread:

I wanted to thank everyone who has been actively participating in the folding team competition. This is the twelfth month of the competition, and it has grown to include 25 teams and numerous individuals. There are a few issues I wanted to share with each team, and the best way to do that was to post the info in each team thread so no team was left out.
  1. There are many teams that do not have four active folders. Inactive folders will be removed from the teams at the end of this month, and teams that do not have any active folders will be removed as well. If your team is in danger of either of these things happening, I will post more info below. Please remember this competition requires active participation. While it is perfectly acceptable to not be a high powered folder, each team member must actively fold. There is not a problem with a member taking a short term break from folding for any reason (computer problems, vacations, personal problems, etc.) If one of your team members is going to be inactive for a while, please PM me to let me know. If the absence is going to be long term, please find a replacement.
  2. Team members who are using the GPU or SMP clients must be identified in the first post of a team's thread. As this competition was meant to give the small time folders a chance to compete, the role of these highly efficient clients needs additional attention. Please remember to count each of the cores that folding is working on when figuring out your team's CPUs breakdown. If a SMP client is running on a dual core system, it counts as two, regardless of how Stanford counts it. The GPU client also needs to count in the mix even if Stanford doesn't show it as an active CPU. The total number of cores is still limited to 8 per team and 3 per person.
Info for this team only:

If justken has deserted the team, please find a replacment. Thanks.

It looks like justken did abandon us :-(

Vanilla Eitz, please update the thread for the things Taeric Mentionned (I have 2 cores w/SMP, you have 2 cores w/SMP and 1 P4, apavlov13 has one core and we need one member with 2 cores or 3 cores, depending on how powerful the 3rd core is (to take your P4's place)

I'd love to win the team competition with only 6 cores, but that's a little unrealistic.

AMAZING COMBACK GUYS!

EDIT: I was looking at my Stanford CPU stats and because of all the difficulty I had last month, it reported a total of 13 cores! (Going from Native Linux -->Windows-->VMWare plus all the messing around with my D915, which no longer folds at all)... So it's really important we update the first post to be clear with the amount of cores running w/SMP and to not mess around to much. The only one guilty of that is me though

Team Zang is looking for a serious CONSISTENT member, no need to have an Uber PC, just make sure it folds as much as possible. 1 or 2 cores.

I'll update the "Looking for a Team/Member thread" I had created.

Hey Jimmy, is there any members in your thread that you would recommend? I still don't have the ability to change the thread title. So if we could find a member without PMing a mod to change the title, that would be great. I updated the first post so that it shows you and I are running the SMP client.

This individual seems to fit the criteria:

http://www.overclock.net/1613656-post22.html

I'm concerned though; really we need a veteran of OCN who won't bail after 2 weeks. We'll never win if we're always 2 cores short.

I say we wait it out, I'll modify our ad in the thread I made to reflect our "veteran" status folder requirement.

Edit: PM'ed Noxious, the fellow who has been wanting to get back in with Team Zang! If he can get his rig to work well (I believe he had difficulty setting up the 2 consoles) than I think he would be a most excellent, long term addition.

You can modify the name of the main topic by clicking next to it a few times when looking at all the threads in the board

I've tried that on all of my threads, it doesn't work for me.
