I confess I'm not fully aware of the costs I would incur if I were to fold 24/7. If it would be very costly from an electricity standpoint, I regret I wouldn't be able to stay, I don't think.

Right now I run them a bit casually. Though they all run for some time each day, they don't currently run 24/7 except for a couple (my laptop here at work and the old, very old, IBM).

Might I suggest that you give it a try solo for a while, and then when you've gotten your bearings you inquire about the team competition again? With all those PCs you'd certainly be able to make a good contribution towards the Overclock.net team.

Regards,

Jimmy

I`m still looking for a team. Dual P4, single core each, operates 24/7.

Thanks for the word of encouragement! It took a while to get there, but hopefully the treck to 200000 will be even easier!

Thanks Franken

A little update: I had some downtime yesterday, and will probably have a bit of downtime today. Yesterday it was because I upgraded my HDD to a Seagate 7200.10 320GB, and I must say, it's probably one of the very best upgrades I've made in a while.

Today I'll probably have about 1 or 2 hours of downtime, because there is a new BIOS out for the S3, which claims "more FSB flexibility". I'd love to hit 3.5, so I'm going to go for it.

If I can't get higher, my RAM is definately holding me back. I've read on newegg that some users hit 1200MHz on these, all I need is 500Mhz

Bah, even if I hit 3.4, or even 3.3, that would be nice.

Anyway, I'll keep you updated.

No problem Jimmy, I had about a day of downtime while gaming after I installed a new X-fi platinum card. Also, I ran into a lot of SMP client bugs. I would leave my rig folding then when I would check on it, the client had aborted a WU. This happened like 3 times in a row.

Crap. My internet hasn't been working for 2 days now. I'm on DSL and it's frequently disconnecting. Something about the signal having errors.

Problem is that we've had technicians over in the past to help solve this problem! So it's a little annoying, to say the least.

As such, I haven't been sending any WUs, hopefully they're still in the queue and will ship out when everything is good and stable.
