However I love MX-2 it is a nice consistency spreads out even every time and has great temps! I believe OCZ freeze is about the same as MX-2. AS5 is bottom of the heap now days and it also takes 200 hours of cure time. I am kinda surprised to see anyone recommending it these days.
I agree. MX-2 is available on newegg for $8, free shipping which was the deal breaker for me. It's easy to apply and all. I heard the ICD7 is the absolute king right now, but it's also harder to find at a good price. And is also a little thick
So Arctic Cooling MX-2 is your best bet

Without a fixture or machine performing the application and installation it is next to impossible to ensure consistent testing parameters IMHO.
No, those reviews of CLP that turn up on google are wrong. There is one that has AS5 doing better than CLP by like 3 degrees. They must have applied it incorrectly. CLP, along with a specific variant of Shin-Etsu (which I don't recall, the name has a lot of numbers in it) are the very best TIMs you can get.

My 920 has HT enabled, and use 1.4125v with LLC, and 191x21 speed. Under LinX with memory to use set to 4096, the highest temperature I have seen is 69C. I am using CLP.

I just switched from my Fuzion to the HK 3.0 last night and this has yielded a ~12C drop in temps across the board it seems. The Fuzion sucks on the i7.

My vote goes for IC Diamond 7. 7 Carats of diamonds in the tube, and at $7 or so you cant beat it

Hard results showing its superiority over competitors.

(Note the first graph in the results area is a compilation of testers from here at OCN )
