Default My Room is STIFLING

My sig rig is my first ever build, I bought the parts in January when it was nice and frosty out. Now that the summer temps are kicking in, the temperature in my room has become unbearable. My central AC is no match for my computer. What are my best options for bringing the heat down in my room minus buying a window unit? Should I turn my computer off whenever im not using it? Sleepmode is a no go with OCing on this motherboard, that option is out the window. Should I underclock my cpu? I'm not even sure if my cpu is the problem, it's most likely the gpu. If thats the case, will underclocking even work?

Hi.

Same concept as your case: ventiliation.

You will need some airflow through the room.

And yeah, shutting your system off when it is not in use will help.

I'm suffering the same problem. My room was becoming a sauna so I air blasted my PC to remove all the dust that makes the PC generate excess heat. Then I found a wall fan and directed it to my chair.

All sorted

Underclocking doesn't do much tbh, as syr said you've got to improve the airflow in your room. I have exactly the same problem, I just put up with it

Pop open some windows, get a couple house fans and it should help out. Summer months for OC'd computers are never fun. Here in SoCal it isnt tooo bad though .

My room was the same way, but I was able to cool it off to comfortable temperatures by opening two windows and pointing a box fan out of one, and be sure that your door is shut. Now warm air is constantly being pulled out of the room and new, refreshing air is replacing it. Even in the hottest days of the summer, at night my room can become uncomfortably cold! It's the same concept as an intake and outflow in a PC chassis.

Ok my room was and still is like an oven. well only when it is 80F and hotter outside. when it is cool or at night, my ambient temp for my case is ~40C just get some airflow and possibly change your case out like i had to do today. my temps dropped 5C just by having a case where everything isnt cramped. Not to mention it is much quieter since it has larger fans that dont need to spin as fast.

It was 101 degrees outside today where I live and the only way I can keep mine running is to open the windows at night (if it is supposed to get cool, and blast air through the house. In the morning when it starts to get warmer, pull the shades and stuff like that. the sun is pretty sweet to see, but not for the temp.

Hibernate windows when your not using it, should be quicker then complete shutdown.

Why can't you use sleep with an OC? Try updating your BIOS.
