I have a ThinkPad W500 laptop and a ThinkPad docking station - http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/c...DFEB639312E18E. My laptop tends to get really hot while on this dock, so my question is are there any methods I could employ to keep my laptop cool? I plan on applying AS5 or ICD7 (which one is better?), but don't have the option of using a cooling pad such a the Targus Chillmat. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for the help!

take it apart and see if there is some spots you can mod it to put a few 5v 80mm fans on and some heat exit paths.... then buy mod the fans to plug into usb port for power....

This is a ghetto suggestion, but stack 1 or 2 books on-top of each other to give the notebook some elevation and set just the screen end on the books or whatever you use. Put a small/house hold fan next to it so that air can blow underneath it.Also look into speedfan software or something similar, this will allow you to turn up/down the speed to the fan.
