Simply put gonna be making a big upgrade soon and wanna do it all at once. Wondering what the best cooling solution is that i can get for 150. Whether it be watercooling or air cooling dont care just want the best and heat to not be a prohibiting factor in my overclocks. Right now as far as Air cooling goes it seems the Titan Fenrir seems to be the best and sitting around 60 i looked at the V10 and the V8 but the Titan actually cools better. So. And is it possible to get a good watercooling setup for 150 dollar budget i could probably raise it to 175 but not much more. Thnx and as alway please have

The best air coolers right now are the prolimantech magahalems, the TRUE, Scythe Mugen2, and the Dark knight.
as for water, there are a few lists floating around on the forum for loops that are around $200-225. post what you are going to be cooling to. :-)

The Prolimatech Megahalems is the best air cooler.
The Titan Fenrir is good also but from the reviews I've seen it cools as good as a Mugen 2 which costs $20 less, which why people around here go with the latter. Also, The Titan isn't as widely available.

I will look into the other ones i was just looking at coolers on frostytech and the last really good review was for the Titan Fenrir. The V10 look very cool and aggressive. But its about performance. It will be for cooling an E7400. The titan Fenrir is available locally at microcenter for 49.99 i looked at them today. I will have to see if the others are also available. I was wanting to dab in watercooling but for the performance for pre made kits it looks like its not worth as a air cooler that costs half does an as good job sometimes better.

you could look at something like the H50 like i have. they cool about the same as the mugen 2 or the dark knight and are about the same price as the air coolers. the benefit to something like the h50 is that you can mount it so many different ways and it does not have all that weight pulling on the motherboard PCB.

I want watercooling for the pure exotic look it will give my computer. Uv coolant and a couple black lights in my computer would really show it off. But if the performance is gonna be the same as an air cooler. Then why bother. I understand there are some extreme watercooling systems out there that are far better than air. But if its not in my price range. Then it will have to be a future upgrade. I found a Domino Coolit ALC For 79 and a Coolit Pure for 89 both look cool Also found some Thermaltake Big Water kits but upon reading reviews realized that there are current air coolers that topple these kits. I was wisped away by the idea of a hybrid peltier cooler for 125 (V10) but after finding out even these most extreme ideas are cool they arent what im after. Performance first, Looks second. Im glad that you guys have informed me of the Megahalems. After reading three reviews for it and seeing it do so well i think it will be a wise purchase. Though its is a downfall that its currently 20 dollars more than the Fenrir. And you have to add in the cost of a 120 mm fan. But that works probably get two Led fans to add to it. Thnx for the help and very good leads. Im sure that this decision will also be future proof seeing how well it performed on the I7's as well
