I have an idea to put sound dampening foam into my case in places where is no need for cooling but where air still circulate, I would like to eliminate dead spots, (decrease air volume) so the air flows mainly over components. Less volume=faster airflow?
My english is not that good, but I hope that you understand what I want to say. ![]() I have Cosmos 1000 case and any comment on this post is more than welcome. hank you

So you're planning to fill most of the open spots in the case with foam and form a wind tunnel of sorts?

This is actually a pretty good idea, all the airflow will be directed to where it's needed.

You want your intakes equal to or less than your exhaust, proper cable management, aftermarket fans (Check RPM 2000 for in 3000 for out preferably)
Note: in your case check your CPU Coolers RPM and try for instance: http://www.coolerguys.com/840556089810.html The fan on the bottom of your case may just cause interference what is the things RPM and *** is it ?

Seems like it would work well for cooling
It would also help with noise

you're going to increase turbulence too perhaps creating dead spots where air will not circulate...
depending on your placement and type of foam you could have great or horrible results... check out volara foam... it has a slick finish which will cut down on drag... probably want to look into making a wedge out of poly foam on the side panel that extends into the case almost touching the other side cover that with volara... depends a whole lot on your setup... i've had people tell me time and time again i shouldn't have the fans on the front of my computer blowing out... i have two huge fans blowing filtered air into the case... and the only exhaust fans i have are rather specific... on my cpu, psu, and drive cages and they don't add up to half of my intake CFM... the rest vents out any hole it can find... like the dual slot bracket for the video card... -- i NEVER hear my GPU fan speed up unless i take the side off my case or reboot :P
