hello i have a 56k V90-V92 modem is the away i can oc it to run a little faster im using juno high speed and i dial up at 112kbs. it runs pretty fast. i crank up my modem all the way up to like 1153456 or some number around there what every it is. but i read that u have to change stuff to make it run that speed i need help i hope some one can help me

thats unfortunate. well there is no way to OC a modem. but you can OC everything else!

it don't work on Comcast... they have a check on your modem's init strings and it loads the config file from their servers... unless you have VERY special hardware that can tap into your cable line AFTER it's connected you can;t edit the config file... even if you could you have to re-load the IOS in the modem for the changes to take effect and that will initiate a new config file downloading from the server... besides... you DO NOT want to get banned from your only ISP.. your best bet is to call em up and tell them you're jumping ship for faster service if they don;t up your limiters by at least a meg or two downstream and to AT LEAST 512k upload.

yah the strings are the only way to do it but you are physically limited to the telephone lines.
