i think the power goes through the copper pipes because if you look at the copper blocks, it has little screw parts on it, much like a car amp where the wire hooks into. And i believe on the last page of the forum site it is on, he says you can just touch the wires of a fan to the correct pipes and the fan will work. so it you touch them, you would get shocked, not something i would want to do.
