Default X-10 network

I heard from a friend that X-10 makes a netwrok kit that sends the packets over you electrical lines. This would help tremendously with my home network. However, i can't find it. Has anyone heard of this??!??!

there are lots of companies tha tmake power line kits, try linksys, ive seen a few from them. also look at dlink.

but if a neighbor use power line networking, they coudl be able to pick up your signal.

X-10 isnt a computer standard network. Its for connecting electrical devices through your home such as lighting, coffee makers, alarm systems, etc.... not computers. Very neat stuff! But no, its not for your computer. They do have a computer standard for networking over power lines... called... uhm... 'LAN-over-power' or something... i dont know... LInksys makes products for it with transfer rates of roughly the speeds of 802.11b.

You would be better off with wireless. When set up right 802.11G can be cost effective, fast, and secure.
