Lol, goby, you just read my mind

Added the link already, but I was just about to ask if any one knows what the mod is actually "for" - my backlight is at 450% so I'm guessing its lifespan is shorter than normal, but what would the advantage of adding LEDs be if you weren't going to wak up the brightness?

My soldering... when I finished... I realized that it wouldn't work with nVidia cards!!!!

A big advantage of LEDs is very little heat compared to the cathode tubes. Touch the metal frame of display after 10mins. Ouch!

As far as I know, it uses a lot less power as well.
