Resurrecting the thread for a quick question:
__________________I don't have the tools to solder around here, so I'm stuck with a mini-RCA connection. I have it connected the following way: 8800GTS ... flexijack out to yellow RCA breakout to the mini RCA, connected to the LCD. Tried configuring a second monitor (TV) through Powerstrip and Nvidia Control Panel without success. Anything I'm missing? Any assistance you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I take it you've enabled TV detection in Nvidia control panel?
I've never heard of it being done via a mini-RCA connection sorry, so if that doesn't make a second monitor show up then I guess you'll have to do the soldering.

It looks like I've been using the wrong breakout cable from my graphics card to get to Svideo (I was using my TV card's). However, I've a Svideo-RCA converter in the mail. If that doesn't work, then I guess it's soldering time.

Hi guys,
sorry to join the world of modding PSOne monitors so late, but hey, I am reviving the thread! I am having a little trouble. I have taken the PCB out of a car adapter, and wired this up to the monitor, which works. I cut the wire on the bus and patched it to turn on the backlight, and this works too, however only if I plug it back into the PSOne itself. I can't get a video signal to display though the A/V, which should be the easiest part of the project. (and yes, i have tested the A/V source on another monitor) Can you think of anything that might have gone wrong? thanks, t |

Well,
I am still having problems with mine. The saturation is way overboard, mainly red... everything is far too "rich", and if i turn up the brightness on the display, i get crawling lines disturbing the image, as though the signal were not clear. i have no idea what is happening. I wish there were an easy way to bring in a higher quality signal than the yellow RCA A/V-in, but it appears that a rather complicated re-encoding circuit is needed to use the 3xRCA (R-G-B) kind of input, which is my alternative for the use i am trying to make of it. any tips would be greatly appreciated. I am tempted to go for the LED mod, and some stage, to reduce power consumption, but only if i can figure out how to control the saturation and eliminate these lines off the image. soon, t |

Have you tried setting the monitor up using Powerstrip?
http://entechtaiwan.com/util/ps.shtm You can manually set timings, etc, using it.
