I was rummaging through some stuff I have and uncovered a PSOne LCD. Would anybody be interested in it? The hinges are shot, and the backside is a little scrapped up, but it would still be well suited for modding.

If you want it, just send me a PM.

Ok, sorry to awaken an old thread, but I happened to find one of these psx LCD's that's in perfect condition. I'd like to try to use it as a status display for my computer but I'm not sure if they even make the right cables to do it. I have the power adapter for it so power's not a problem.

So, does anyone know if DVI to 3.5mm AV or HDMI to 3.5mm AV cables even exist?

Not really, in the sense you're asking. DVI/HDMI are digital sources the stereo A/V jack is analog. You ideally need an analog source to drive the LCD.

So maybe a VGA to AV? My graphics card has 1 VGA, 1 DVI, and 1 HDMI. The VGA is already powering my main monitor but would it work if I got a DVI to VGA converter and a VGA to 3.5mm AV cable (if they exist)?

I don't want it to become a big hassle. I just figured if I wasn't using it, why not turn it into a mini secondary display to stick in my case or on my desk.

I'm not positive you can use the VGA, but send a PM to duckie, he's got more knowledge of these things. I believe the easiest solution would be grabbing a small card with a TV out. The PSOne's monitor accepts a very narrow range of video signals and you'll play hell getting it to work with a VGA, or possibly even most Composite (RCA yellow plug) video outs. I believe there are some good resources on the first page for help getting this to work.

Getting it to work with a Stereo plug is also a big unknown. IIRC most people modded them to take a composite signal at 640x480 at specific refresh rates.

I actually happened to find a S-video to 3.5mm AV and a RCA to 3.5mm AV cable. I made sure it worked by using the PS1 display as an external display for my digital camera.

Now I just need to figure out how to hook it up to my video card. Is it possible to splice a VGA cable and the 3.5MM AV cable together? I doubt it... if only my video card had S-Video out....

Alright, so I cannot seem to find the instructions for the composite set up... Where can I find this? I am also wondering if I can run S-Video as a secondary monitor or can you not do that on the GTX 285?

What are the perfect cables for this? I was thinking of making a completely seperate monitor with this...
Thanks!
