Default Guitar amp into subwoofer with homemade adapter

i had this old guitar amp sitting around and i figured it is A LOT like a powered subwoofer. Lately ive figured out how to do some hardware modding all on my own, maybe its not genius and amazing but im rather proud of myself.

the adapter i made is made from some paper clips, a headphone jack, and the use of an electric guitar cable.

from striping the end of the cord on my headphone jack i noticed there is different colored wires and one set without a color. Red, which i think is right. Yellowish/white, which i think is left. and an uncovered wire which provides the same sound in both speakers... possibly ground? i dont know what exactly this wire does, all i know is that you need it to make it work.

the electric guitar cable has two connections, the tip, and separated by a plastic ring, the base. by attaching the uncovered wire, maybe "ground," to the base and attaching "white" to the tip of the cable it is able to produce sound though the amp. on my computer i set it to 5.1 surround although i dont actually have surround. it was the only option i could find that allowed for a subwoofer. anyways the headphone jack goes into the pink microphone jack. the amp now works as a decent "powered subwoofer."

i was curious about things i should know, and other things that could help me

i would also gladly answer questions.

This will damage the preamp stage in the amp, be it tube or solid state. A guitar amp is designed for very weak electrical signals produced by the coils in guitar pickups. By using consumer line level (not true line level, but more than a guitar) you introduce (relatively) high levels into a preamp designed for weak signals. Some amplifiers have 2 inputs, labeled "high Z" and "low Z". This is so that they can be used with a separate preamp. A straight guitar signal would go into the "high Z" and a preamp (whether it be for a guitar, keyboard, acoustic guitar preamp, electric sitar, etc.) would go into "low Z". Not only that, but a guitar amplifier is not designed to handle high level low frequencies.

QFT... not to mention the speaker and the cabinet are not designed for low frequencies. There are very specific calculations that go into a sub encloser based around the sub itself.

Your young, have fun learning.

ah, i suppose i didnt explain...
i already understand that using guitar amps like this can damage them, but!

its an old amp that is practically trash, it was cheap then and junk now.
before i got a REAL sub, i wanted to try making a simple one, thats all

and for pictures... you people are going to laugh so hard. it may appear so crude that you may wonder how it ever worked in the first place. ill have pictures soon

i cant wait for the "lolz" in the next few replies.
