Default Networking

So my mom just got (ok, she didn't just get it, but recently) DSL and we need to set it up so her laptop can wirelessly connect. We have a Westell router that comes standard with Verizon DSL and her laptop is a HP that has a network card built into the mobo...or it should since she definetly wirelessly connected to someone's (don't know if it was ours) network, but it isn't working anymore. Anyone know how to get this configured?

go to network connections and set it up
it should detect the wireless router and it will tell you what to do

if it isn't detecting then you may have the wireless turned off on the laptop. sounds like an easy fix but when you forget you turned it off that is always the last thing you think of
