Default How to make ipod harddrive useable?

ok so my ipod doesnt work. but i wanna try using the drive inside like a CF card or something portable. its a 30gb hd. dont want to waste it. i already opened the ipod. dont know what to do now... anyone know how to do it? or any other ideas?

I assume it has a standard ATA/PATA/SATA Bridge?

I've not really cracked open the iPod before but I assume you can take the HD out and mount it inside a 2.5 H.D.D Enclosure

Well are you sure the hard drive isn't what is broken on the ipod?

Don't even take the hard drive out. Just open up iTunes and check the box that says Enable Disk Use or whatever it says, and you can use it like an external hard drive.

neither of those 3. it has 50 holes. lol i heard CF cards been used to replace these hd's so... maybe it has the same amount of pin holes as a CF card? *shrugs*

if i could do that, i wouldnt need to do this. my ipod went kaput. dotn know if its the firmware or whatever on the ipod. it goes on. i put songs on it. next tim ei turn it on. ??? its all gone. somtimes it has trouble playing music when it can.

From what you just described there, it almost sounds like the hard drive is what's bad in your ipod. That's just what I understand from what you said.
