Default X-530 Cathode Mod

I just had an idea about putting a blue cathode into the subwoofer of my Logitech X-530 speakers.
It's the only thing in my computer setup that doesn't shine blue. I need to fix that.

I have a question about it though...
How would I power the cathode? =/

I was looking at this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16800888026

Thanks.

I think there are seperate cables you can use to power a cathode. I think I may have one in the box of junk CyberDruid sent me. It plugs into a normal outlet.

It's a smaller plug for AC current (that's why it needs a power inverter I believe...)

Hmm.
I'm thinking about tearing apart my old Dell to use it's power supply to power the cathode and then use dr4gon's extension cable.

I really don't think the cathode will last long in a subwoofer do to the strong vibrations. It would be cool if you could get it to work though... maybe some sort of dampening between the mount point and the cathode?

Good point lastshot.
I actually thought of that this afternoon. Might present quite a problem to my idea..
Hmm..
I'll have to think about it some more.

If you use outdoor mounting tape to tape it to the sub it would dampen the vibes.
