Ive been wondering.... Is DDR2 really much better then the normal DDR? Is it worth putting in some DDR2 in my next rig?

It seems to be maturing but because of the clock cycles it still has more latency than DDR--I say wait another few months and watch the latencies drop (and the prices too)

im still new to the whole memory thing, but by looking at the timings of ddr2, isnt it slower than ddr? the only major difference being the fsb its capable of?

Well faster FSB could make up for timings, depending on how much higher of each you are talking about. Also I heard that intel systems aren't too picky about timings so yes, DDR2 is worth it if the one you are looking at is about the sme price as comparable DDR, the added bandwith and higher clockspeeds more than make up for the higher timings. There are some pretty low timings on DDR2 now a days, not mine though, 4-4-4-12 is about as high as they come
__________________ but its running at 610MHz on 1.6 volts, I'd LOVE to see DDR do that, even at 4-4-4-12. Prolly could handle lower but my mobo doesnt let you change timings, if I set it to 400MHz (458 with my overclock) it goes to 3-3-3-8 timings.
