Yes. pauldovi brings to light another of the more vital reasons that casued me to shy off.
Carcinogenic dust. After reading about the nature (and getting the itchies) of the airborne particles when cutting, I had the wind taken out of my sails. The biggest issue for me was curing-time. I could not leave the pieces outside for any extended period of time, so I brought them in.... my small house was soon inundated with the aroma of curing resin... ![]() But that dust... man... gives me the hebbie-jebbies just thinking about it...

The dust... I cringe at fiberglass, drives me crazy, itch little bits of glass and the carbon fiber isn't any fun either in that respect.
A light weight white jump suit is available to keep those nasties from getting on the body. They are also commonly used in the carbide industry.

Oh Man!
...you are not kidding! Hmmm... I could see myself in a white bunny-suit; I have seen them for sale in paint-stores.

Curing times are very temperature dependent; lower temperatures results in longer curing times. In the composites industry curing ovens are typically used to drastically reduce the necessary curing time; even an enclosure around the curing part (draped in plastic or other thermal barrier) and warming the air inside with a space heater will reduce the necessary curing time.
Tyvek suits are also common in composites (both during the layups and processing) since they help protect your clothing from the resins and skin protection from airborne particulates (glass/carbon dust). Tyvek is also a lot lighter and user friendly (doesn't trap heat) than kevlar suits and are also less expensive.

i would like to see syrillian in the white bunny suit
hahaThere's nothing to mess around with when working with the resins, fiberglass, or any of this stuff. Same with working with the insulation put in many houses, just isn't fun. Usually recommended is cool water to wash it off if it does get on you so as to not open up your pores and get any of the dust/glass under your skin.

There is an option other than typical MEK cured Polyester resins...you could use two part epoxy which has a lot lower volatile emission and except for the "blush" of Amines that forms on the piece is relatively non toxic. Even the dust is less toxic. I've used quite a lot of poxy and except for the boils, blisters and hump forming on my back it's never done me any harm....
It costs more...but considering the small size of the parts it might not matter compared to the safety. Another plus clean up with epoxy is easy with white vinegar...as compared to typical resin lay up which uses MEK and lacquer thinner like water...

I use two-part epoxy with my CF. I get everything from fibreglast.com.

Most of the resins we used were Epoxy resins from fibreglast; but for some things they're rather expensive; there are less expensive sites. a lot of the molding/bagging supplies are less expensive at fiberlay.com
Edit: when I get a bit of time I'll put together a short writeup on different types of resins, layup techniques, fabric types/weaves, etc.
