Unhappy Did I do something wrong??

Hi All,

Okay so I lapped my E6750 today, but I don't see any difference. My temps have stayed exactly the same I sanded (gradually) the cpu and the HSF. Both were uneven before sanding and now are nice, smooth, flat, and shinny. But same temps??? any thoughts on what I may have done wrong? Should I try a new HSF? Thanks!

when you lap, you use even less compound then usual. you dont need as much, with the sufaces being flat now!

Ohhh, I didn't know that. Didn't look like a mess but it is hard to see. Do you think that would affect my temps? Thanks!

yeah, it should affect your temps. try to reseat, and use the absolute smallest amount possible. then see what your temps look like.

yes, less thermal paste..also. youll notice more of a change in load temps then idle temps when lapping. idles are hard to get way down because your ambient temps are a huge factor
