Silencing a PS2? - Overclock.net

How can you make your PS2 more silent?
I have the big version, and I think my fan is making to much noise, or could it be something else?

Any ideas?

I could have ran it off of 5V, which would have been silent, but 12V provides better cooling and is quiet enough for me. I did run it at 5V for several weeks and it seemed to cool well enough, though.

The fan in the is what makes the ps2 noisy. The newer versions of the FAT PS2 (i think i got the last one before they switched) are quite. Find some guides on opening up your ps2 (if your willing to do that) and find out what fan you need. Should be a easy switch.
