I've been wanting to quiet down my case for a while now, but I lack money to purchase a actually noise filter foams for my case. Well, I am thinking of using items I have around my house.
Do you guys have any ideas what I can use? I'm about to go try cutting a cardboard box up and taping it onto my side panel. Will provide pictures.

Watch out for anything that might cause static.

static, like mentioned above, is bad, and so is FIRE. Dont use anything that can easily combust into flames... that would be bad, m'kay.

cardboard won't work. well, i guess it technically would, but dropping 5dbA doesn't really count as much of an improvement (thats less than unplugging one of your fans). what you COULD use is a carpet that you spraypaint (to prevent any static). That should actually work better than the foam they sell.

I find a few spots of blu-tac (Or similar product. Perhaps modelling clay would work?) on large panels prone to vibration helps keep the panels stuck to the case frame and reduces the buzzing sound they can make.
