picoPSU's powering low Wattage desktop CPU-based system
__________________So I am working on a project, the details of which you will have to wait on ![]() I am wondering if I had like one of those AMD X2-BE CPU's (or a lower Wattage Intel CPU if it exists, please let me know if it does), undervolted it at stock speed just to shave a few extra watts off, and had it in a system with just a hd/cd-rom being the only other things drawing power (mobo and ram draw very little), if a 120W PicoPSU would be enough for this....120W PicoPSU means 120W at 12V BUT I don't know how strong the 5v/3v rails are. Here is a link to the 120W PicoPSU. I would be using this with the corresponding 120W AC Adapter. According to wattage calculations it should be enough but I am not perfectly sure, and don't want to 'test' it out before consulting the gurus here.
