Ok, so I have my telephone hosted by my ISP and they installed a modem which gives us telephone and internet. But due to a recent relocation of the furniture, I was planning on moving it else where which has a cable output and a wire(has the end cut off) of a telephone wire. Now, what I want to do is rewire the telephone wire and make it so that I can use my modem there and not on the ground....
Can anyone help? I'm looking at ghettoing it up and not having to buy any hardware. I do have spare telephone wires laying around. Thanks.

Buy a telephone junction box from WalMart or Radio Shack that has a 4 wire hookup, and install it close enough to the cut wire end to hook up the wires to it. Just look into your main phone junction box mounted somewhere on the outside of your house, and copy the wire colors/terminal arrangement from it. Then buy an extension (maybe 25 ft.) cable that has both ends that will plug into the junction box you will install and your rig. You should be good to go.
